A TradingView Bar Replay alternative for stock day traders

Hindsight Markets is a TradingView Bar Replay alternative for people who day trade US stocks. Bar Replay plays a chart back one bar at a time. Hindsight Markets replays the whole market on a real past day, every trade and every quote, and gives you a whole trading platform to trade it with: scanners, Level 2, the tape, hotkeys and a journal.

A chart replay and a market replay

TradingView’s Bar Replay lets you pick a point on a chart and play the bars forward, and its support pages say several charts can replay together, synchronised in time. It is built into the charting platform many traders already use, across many markets.

A day trader’s morning is more than a chart. You find the stock on a scanner, read the book and the prints, size the order and get filled, or not. Hindsight Markets replays all of that together: the chart, the book, the tape, the scanners and the news move on one clock, and you can pull any stock in at any moment.

Why the whole market matters for a day trader

You do not know which stock will move. A chart replay starts on a stock you already chose. Here your scan reruns across the whole market every minute with only what was known then, so the runner shows up when it really did.

The book and the tape are part of the read. Level 2 shows the depth at each exchange, and time and sales shows every print coloured by where it traded against the quote, so you can practise reading them, not just the candles.

Your size meets the real book. A marketable order fills against the displayed size, best price first, and a limit order waits behind the orders that were already there. A print at your price does not mean you were filled.

The day’s rules apply. LULD bands and halts work as they did on that date, the short sale restriction holds a short above the bid, and a hard-to-borrow name needs a locate. News and SEC filings arrive when they were published.

The Scalper desk on 2026-09-16 at 11:16 ET: 1,000 MEDS held from 9.03 with a limit sell resting at 11.50, the scanner with MEDS near the top of the small-cap gainers up 506% on the day, time and sales, Level 2 by exchange, the order ticket and four charts of the run from 2 to 12, all on one clock.

The honest limits

Every fill here is simulated. Off-exchange and hidden liquidity never fill you, and your own order does not move the market after it fills, so a result is a practice result against that day’s book, not what the same decision would do with real money. The full list of what the model does and does not capture is on the disclaimer page. The glossary explains Level 2 and time and sales if they are new to you.

Common questions

Is there a TradingView Bar Replay alternative for stocks?
For US stock day traders, Hindsight Markets replays the whole market on a real past day rather than one chart, with point-in-time scanners, news and filings, Level 2 by exchange, time and sales, and fills from that day’s order book. It covers days from August 2026 forward.
What is TradingView Bar Replay?
A feature of TradingView’s charts that plays price bars forward from a point you pick, so you can study or practise on past price action. Several charts can replay together, synchronised in time.
Can you buy and sell in TradingView Bar Replay?
TradingView’s support pages describe a replay trading mode with its own buy and sell buttons and brackets, whose results stay in that session. Its Paper Trading and broker orders run on real-time data, not on the replay.
Can I replay several stocks at once?
In Hindsight Markets a replay is the whole market on one day. Pull any stock in from a scanner, a watchlist or the search box at any moment, and hold positions in several on one account with one P&L.
What is the difference between a bar replay and a market replay?
A bar replay reveals one chart’s bars one at a time. A market replay plays every trade and quote, so the order book, the tape and the scanners move too, and your orders fill against that book.
